Wolverine is one of Marvel's most tenacious fighters. His adamantium skeleton is virtually indestructible, his healing factor can regenerate from near-complete destruction, and his berserker rage makes him fight with feral intensity that unnerves even the most experienced combatants. He has centuries of combat experience and has fought everyone from the Hulk to Magneto.

Kratos, however, has killed gods. The Ghost of Sparta dismantled the Greek pantheon and then moved on to the Norse gods for an encore. His Blades of Chaos are divine weapons that burn with the fires of the underworld, and his Leviathan Axe channels ice magic potent enough to freeze divine beings. His raw strength is on a completely different level — he overpowered Zeus and Thor in hand-to-hand combat.

Wolverine's adamantium claws can cut virtually anything, but Kratos has tanked blows from weapons wielded by gods. The Ghost of Sparta's durability is superhuman to an extreme degree. Meanwhile, Wolverine's healing factor, while incredible, has limits — it can be overwhelmed by sufficient damage, and Kratos' divine weapons deal magical damage that may interfere with mutant regeneration.

The Blades of Chaos are the key weapon here. Their fire is supernatural in origin and has killed immortal beings. Wolverine's healing factor has struggled with magical and energy-based attacks in the comics. If Kratos wraps Wolverine in the Blades' chains and applies sustained divine fire, even the mutant's legendary regeneration would be pushed to its absolute limit.
