Standard battle rules
- Current standard canon unless the page names another version.
- Standard equipment, no preparation and no outside help.
- Neutral terrain unless the matchup only makes sense in a specific environment.
- Victory by knockout, submission or clear incapacitation—not automatic death.
- Both fighters act in character but understand that they are in a fight.
Evidence hierarchy
Fictional characters
Primary canon comes first: the relevant comic, manga, episode, film or game. Official handbooks and publisher material come next. Community wikis can help locate a feat, but they do not replace the original scene.
Animals
We prioritize zoological institutions, conservation bodies, peer-reviewed research and documented observations. Size and behavior vary by sex, age, population and environment, so a single number never decides the fight by itself.
Real fighters and athletes
We use official records, contemporary reporting and well-documented career data. Hypothetical matchups use prime competitive versions unless the page says otherwise.
What confidence means
Confidence is editorial certainty, not the fighter’s calculated probability of winning. A 55 rating means the evidence is close or version-dependent. An 85 means the matchup has a clear, repeatable deciding factor under the stated rules.
Community vote
Voting measures the opinion of visitors to this site. It is a community pulse, not a representative survey, and it never changes the editorial verdict automatically.
