Kratos is the ultimate god-killer. He has slain the entire Greek pantheon, defeated Baldur and Thor in the Norse realms, and even killed Zeus himself in single combat. His Blades of Chaos and Leviathan Axe are divine weapons capable of harming immortal beings, and his rage-fueled strength has toppled titans the size of mountains. In terms of sheer resume, few characters in gaming can match Kratos.

However, Darkseid operates at a cosmic tier that dwarfs the gods Kratos has fought. True-form Darkseid exists as a multiversal concept — his mere fall through the multiverse nearly destroyed all of reality in Final Crisis. His Omega Beams can disintegrate virtually anything, erase beings from existence, and track targets through time and space. Even his avatars — diminished versions of his true self — regularly fight Superman to a standstill.

The gods Kratos killed, while impressive within their mythological context, operate at a planetary level at best. Zeus could conjure storms and throw lightning. Darkseid has conquered thousands of worlds, commands armies that span galaxies, and possesses the Anti-Life Equation, which enslaves all free will. The power scaling between Greek mythology and DC cosmic tiers is enormous.

Kratos's best chance would involve the Blade of Olympus or similar divine weapons that specifically target godly beings. But Darkseid has withstood attacks from beings far more powerful than anything in Kratos's experience.
