Doctor Doom is one of the few characters who can actually fight the Hulk effectively through a combination of force fields, energy weapons, and magical attacks. His armor's shields can withstand tremendous punishment, and his sorcery can harm the Hulk in ways physical attacks cannot. Doom has fought the Hulk in the comics and held his own.

However, the Hulk's strength scales with his anger, and fighting Doom — who is arrogant, condescending, and deliberately provocative — would make the Hulk progressively angrier and stronger. Doom's defenses are impressive but not infinite; eventually, the Hulk's escalating power would breach them.

Doom's best strategy would be to end the fight quickly using magic or technological trickery — teleportation, molecular manipulation, or gas attacks that target Banner's human physiology. If the fight drags on, the Hulk's power curve makes victory increasingly impossible for Doom.
