This is Marvel's greatest tech rivalry, and it is closer than many fans admit. Tony Stark is arguably the better pure engineer, but Victor Von Doom combines comparable technological genius with mastery of the mystic arts. Doom's armor is on par with Iron Man's best suits, and he supplements it with powerful sorcery that Tony has no natural defense against.

Doom has stolen the Power Cosmic, become a god, and wielded the Beyonder's power. While these are external power-ups, they demonstrate Doom's ceiling is virtually limitless. In standard encounters, Doom's combination of force fields, energy blasts, and magical attacks gives him more versatility than Tony's repulsors and unibeam.

Tony's advantage lies in his ability to adapt mid-fight and build specialized countermeasures. His AI-assisted combat and nanotech suits can reconfigure in real-time. But Doom's magical shields can block attacks that would breach conventional armor, and his mystical attacks bypass Tony's tech-based defenses.
