Batman fans love to say 'with prep time, Batman beats anyone.' And to be fair, Batman has defeated extraordinary foes with preparation — Darkseid, Superman, even gods. But the Hulk presents a unique problem that doesn't yield to conventional Batman preparation.

The Hulk's power scales with rage infinitely. There is no documented ceiling. Batman could build the most advanced armor in DC history, and all it does is buy time while Hulk gets angrier — and therefore stronger. Unlike Superman (kryptonite) or most other foes (specific weakness), Hulk doesn't have an exploitable Achilles heel that Batman can target.

Bruce's best approach would be targeting Banner's psychology — similar to how Black Widow uses the 'lullaby' protocol. But in an actual fight where Hulk is committed to combat? Batman's entire arsenal is insufficient. Batarangs bounce off. Explosives make Hulk angrier. Even the most advanced Bat-mech would eventually crumble under blows from a being who can crack tectonic plates.

Batman's intelligence is unmatched and he's defeated gods with the right preparation. He could potentially develop gas weapons targeting Banner's human biology, use sonic weapons to disorient Hulk, or employ psychological manipulation to trigger a Banner transformation. Batman always finds a way — that's his entire character.

The Case for Hulk

The Hulk is a force of nature that grows stronger the longer the fight continues. No amount of Bat-tech can permanently damage him, and his healing factor negates any wound Batman could inflict. A single hit from Hulk would be instantly fatal for Batman regardless of armor. The power gap is simply too vast.

Hulk wins in any direct confrontation. Batman could potentially delay Hulk or trigger a Banner reversion with enough preparation, but in an actual fight, the power gap is insurmountable. This is one of the few matchups where even 'Batman with prep time' isn't a reliable win condition.
