Batman is the ultimate prepared fighter, but Darth Vader presents a unique challenge. The Force gives Vader telekinesis, precognition, and the ability to choke opponents from a distance — abilities that Batman's standard loadout has no direct counter for. A Force choke does not require line of sight and cannot be blocked by a Batarang.
