Sasuke's Rinnegan space-time abilities and genjutsu give him just enough versatility to edge out Zoro's superior swordsmanship.
This is a dream matchup between two of anime's greatest swordsmen. Zoro wields three swords simultaneously with Advanced Conqueror's Haki, capable of cutting through virtually anything. He scarred Kaido โ one of the most durable beings in One Piece โ and his flying slash attacks can level buildings. His physical endurance is legendary, as shown when he absorbed all of Luffy's pain at Thriller Bark.
Sasuke Uchiha is a master swordsman in his own right, but his real danger comes from his other abilities. The Rinnegan grants space-time manipulation, allowing him to teleport and swap places with objects. His Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan provides Amaterasu โ inextinguishable black flames โ and Susanoo, a massive chakra avatar that functions as both armor and weapon. Genjutsu allows him to attack Zoro's mind directly.
In pure swordsmanship, Zoro likely has the edge. His three-sword style is more technically demanding and diverse than Sasuke's single-blade kenjutsu, and his Haki provides both offensive enhancement and precognitive defense through Observation Haki. Zoro has dedicated his entire life to the sword, while Sasuke splits his focus across dozens of techniques.
But Sasuke's versatility is the deciding factor. Genjutsu could trap Zoro in an illusion โ One Piece characters have no demonstrated resistance to mental manipulation of this type. Amaterasu provides an unavoidable fire attack that burns until the target is consumed. And Susanoo gives Sasuke a defensive option that Zoro's slashes would need incredible power to penetrate.
Zoro's Advanced Conqueror's Haki lets him cut through the toughest defenses in One Piece. His three-sword style provides incredible offensive variety, and he scarred Kaido โ a being with near-impervious scales. His Observation Haki provides precognitive defense, and his physical endurance is legendary. In a pure sword fight, Zoro's dedication to the blade gives him the technical edge.
Sasuke's Rinnegan grants teleportation and space-time manipulation. Amaterasu creates inextinguishable flames that burn anything they touch. Genjutsu can trap opponents in illusions without physical contact. Susanoo provides a massive defensive and offensive avatar. This versatility means Sasuke has multiple paths to victory beyond just swordsmanship, while Zoro relies primarily on his blades.
Sasuke edges this out through superior versatility. Zoro is arguably the better pure swordsman, but Sasuke's combination of genjutsu, Amaterasu, Rinnegan teleportation, and Susanoo gives him too many angles of attack. Zoro has no demonstrated counter to mental manipulation or unavoidable fire. In a pure sword duel, Zoro might win โ but Sasuke would never limit himself to just swords.
