This is a clash between science-fiction power and mythological divinity. Superman derives his power from yellow sunlight — it's a scientifically-explainable power source within DC's fiction. Zeus wields divine power that operates on a fundamentally magical level.

Superman's vulnerability to magic is the deciding factor. While Superman's physical stats (strength, speed, durability) might match or exceed Zeus's, all of Zeus's attacks are inherently magical. His lightning bolts are divine constructs, not natural electricity. His strength comes from godhood, not physics. Every attack Zeus throws is hitting Superman in his one weak spot.

That said, Superman's speed advantage is real and significant. Zeus, while powerful, doesn't typically display Flash-level speed feats. Superman could theoretically blitz Zeus before the god can bring his power to bear. But Zeus's divine reflexes and cosmic awareness might compensate for that.

In DC Comics, Superman has actually fought and defeated various Greek gods, but usually not Zeus himself. Zeus in DC is portrayed as one of the most powerful beings in that universe's mythology.
