The ultimate shonen rivalry matchup. Both are hard-headed protagonists who power up through sheer willpower, both have inner demons (Kurama and Nika), and both refuse to lose when their friends are on the line.

Gear 5 Luffy fundamentally changed this debate. Before the Nika reveal, Naruto was generally favored due to superior speed feats and the devastating power of Baryon Mode. But Gear 5 gives Luffy the ability to reshape reality with cartoon logic — he can turn the ground to rubber, grab lightning, inflate himself to giant size, and essentially operate under Looney Tunes physics. It's incredibly difficult to counter something that doesn't obey normal rules.

Naruto's strongest argument is his speed and versatility. In Six Paths Sage Mode, he can fly, sense negative emotions, create truth-seeking orbs that erase matter, and produce thousands of shadow clones. His raw destructive output with Tailed Beast Bombs is continental level.

But Luffy's rubber body naturally counters many of Naruto's attacks — physical strikes bounce off, and his Haki allows him to hit harder than his physical form would suggest.
